Police say they have arrested two individuals who attacked a man in Hulhumale' last night.
Police said they received the attack report around 11:35 last night. They said that the assailants had attacked a man sitting on a motorcycle near the Rehendi School turf ground.
Police revealed that the victim of the attack was treated for his wounds at Hulhumale' hospital and later discharged. Police also said that the man was attacked with an axe.
They stated that the two suspects fled the scene and were stopped on the highway.
Police identified the assailants as 25-year-old and a 19-year-old. They said the weapon used for the attack was found in the suspects' possession when they were arrested and that a knife was also found on them.
Police are further investigating the case.
Such assaults are growing alarmingly common in the Greater Male' Area.
