A man has been injured after being hit by a landing craft while out swimming near Dharumavantha Hospital in Male'.
MTCC staff spotted and rescued the man at a nearby bus stop. Police also assisted in rescuing the man from the sea.
The man was then rushed to the hospital where he is still being treated.
Police cited the hospital to say that the man was being treated for a head injury and that he was injured after being hit by a vehicle or vessel.
They did not give out any information about the incident but said that they were investigating the incident.
The waters outside of Dharumavantha Hospital is frequently used by vessels and high speed launches that travel to and from the capital Male'.
