Maldives Meteorological Services the Met Office says bad weather conditions are expected nationwide for the coming days.
In a weather update, the Met Office said due to the combined effect of monsoon transition and a low-level circulation over the Maldives, the country experienced widespread rainfall with intermittent heavy showers and thunderstorms over the past 24 hours.
It said the most significant rainfall was recorded at 110.6 mm by AWS at Addu City Hithadhoo.
The Met Office said heavy showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to persist over the country for the next three days.
It strongly advised the public to exercise caution during this period.
