Deputy Prosecutor General Ali Sameer has resigned from his post.

In a Facebook post, Sameer stated that yesterday was his last day in office. He went on to thank his colleagues and also stated that he had high hopes for the future.

The former High Court judge did not share why he resigned from the post to which he was appointed back in 2022.

Sameer was a High Court judge for more than 10 years. Before that, he also presided as the Chief Judge of the Civil Court.

He received his law degree from the prestigious Al Azhar University in Egypt. He also received his master's degree from Malaysia's International University.

With Sameer's resignation, Mahmood Salim will be the only deputy prosecutor. The Deputy Prosecutor General is appointed by the Prosecutor General.
