Health Protection Agency HPA says it has noticed increased Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) cases among children.

The Agency said it was closely monitoring the situation and urged the public to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses, especially among children.

HPA said effective measures include handwashing, respiratory etiquette, and avoiding crowded places.

The Agency advised individuals experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or chest pain to seek medical attention promptly.

HPA added that early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve outcomes.

The Agency did not give details about how many cases of the illness have been reported so far in the country and where the illness was spreading most rapidly.
