People's National Congress PNC has announced that it will hold a special rally tonight to celebrate its landslide win at the parliamentary elections held yesterday.

The party said that the rally would be held at 20:30 at the Artificial beach and that there would be fireworks after the rally. The party invited all the citizens to take part in the celebrations.

PNC secured 71 seats of the 20th Parliament in the elections after competing for 90 of the 93 seats in the parliament which also means that the ruling PNC has now secured Parliamentary supermajority.

The main opposition party MDP who held the supermajority in the last parliament only won 12 out of the 89 seats it had competed in. While MDA won two seats, MNP and Jumhooree Party only managed to secure just one seat in the parliament.

Six out of the 130 independent candidates also won in yesterday's election.

Surprisingly, the Democrats and Adhaalath parties failed to win any seats in the parliament which means veteran MPs like Eva Abdullah, Imthiyaz Fahmy, and Ali Azim would not be representing their constituencies in the 20th Parliament.
