The Parliament says it has assigned the task of organizing the swearing-in ceremony for the President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to MDNF welfare company SIWEC.
The ceremony is set to be held on the 17th of next month in the Republic Square in Male'.
The Parliament secretariat said that the task of organizing the ceremony was assigned to SIWEC for MVR 22.9 million. The MNDF welfare company SIWEC is expected to oversee all aspects of the ceremony which more than 3,500 guests are likely to attend.
Preparations for the ceremony are now underway in Republic Square as the MNDF has put up a fence around the area and also pitched a huge white tent in the area.
SIWEC was formed as an effort to generate revenue to improve and boost the welfare mechanism and services of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
SIWEC was formed on the 7th of August 2012. It is a joint venture between the Government (10 percent of shares) and Sifainge Cooperative (Sifco, 90 percent of shares).
