Immigration Authorities have raided businesses operated by foreigners in Dhilbahaaru Magu of Male, a popular area among foreigners.
They said that they have received multiple reports about illegal migrant activity in the area and that they raided the area yesterday.
Immigration targeted businesses believed to be operated by foreigners and raided the businesses.
They further said that 31 foreigners were detained in the area and that they were living in the area illegally.
Immigration has teamed with other law enforcement agencies to apprehend foreigners who are working in the Maldives illegally without proper documentation.
Authorities have detained hundreds in countless raids across the Greater Male' Area and have also kicked off a nationwide program to ensure that all foreigners working in the Maldives have proper documentation.
