Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has confirmed that Vice President Faisal Naseem had been admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital.
Mabrook said that the Vice President was admitted to the hospital last night with a high fever.
He also said that the VP had tested for COVID-19 following his admission at the hospital and that the test came back negative.
Mabrook added that medical investigations were currently ongoing to determine a diagnosis.
Vice President Faisal had received the first dose of the covidsheild vaccine earlier this month.
The Vice President appealed to the public to come forth in the national spirit and urged everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
