ADK Hospital has revised key services to patients amid the dramatic rise of COVID-19 cases in the country, especially the Greater Male' Area.
In a statement, the hospital said that the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in the country prompted the alteration to its services. It said that the hospital has had to place its staff under quarantine due to the ongoing pandemic which in turn has made providing services difficult.
ADK said that the following changes have been brought to its services effective immediately;
- Move all OPD consultations online
- Cease all elective surgeries for now
- Stop patient admissions to the hospital
- Disallow patient visitations for now
ADK hospital said even with these changes, its emergency services would be provided and that this includes emergency admissions and diagnostic services.
The hospital said that it requires cooperation from all parties in order to overcome the difficulties posed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The hospital urged civilians not to visit its premises unless absolutely necessary and to bring only one individual as guardian if coming to the hospital for urgent needs.
It also urged visitors to properly wear facemasks and to make use of the hand sanitizers placed across the hospital.
This comes after the dramatic rise in COVID-19 number across the country in the last few days with more than 700 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the last six days.
This had prompted authorities to tighten the restrictive measures taken against the pandemic especially in the Greater Male' Area. The measure include reimposing a 5-hr curfew in the Greater Male' Area of Male', Villimale and Hulhumale' from 12:00 am to 4:00 am every night.
