Maldives Vice President Faisal Naseem has held a virtual meeting with the senior management of Addu Equitorial Hospital to discuss challenges faced by the medical institution.

During an online conference held on Wednesday, 19 August 2020, the members of Addu Equitorial Hospital's senior management had provided a detailed presentation highlighting all the challenges and issues they were facing. Moreover, they had made emphasis on the areas which require assistance and aid from relevant authorities.

Some of the issues highlighted during Wednesday's conference include lack of trained personnel to operate the machinery and equipment at the hospital along with the issue of insufficient space.

Moreover, challenges arising from these issues were discussed along with the struggle in procuring prescriptions or medications for patients.

Vice President was joined by the acting Minister of Health Mohamed Aslam, who is moonlighting as the government bodies frontman to fill the void left by Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen who decided to step down from responsibilities over the issue of irregularities found from the body's procurement and transactions.

Minister Aslam gave assurance to the hospital of solving issues that require immediate attention and also manageable under current condition.

Moreover, the minister ensured of speaking with relevant authorities to develop and resolve the issues faced by Addu Equitorial Hospital as soon as possible.
