Health Protection Agency HPA says 13 more individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 today.

In a tweet, HPA said 8 locals and 5 Bangladeshi nationals tested positive for the virus today. This takes the total number of Covid-19 cases to 968.

Most of the individuals tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives are migrant workers from Bangladesh. The latest data showed that 511 Bangladeshis have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.

Meanwhile, 324 locals have tested positive for Covid-19 along with 98 Indians living in the country.

Authorities have confirmed that 40 people have now recovered from the virus with over 922 still under treatment.

Four people have died of Covid-19 in the Maldives. This includes an 83-year-old local woman, a 33-year-old Bangladeshi national, an-80-year old Maldivian man, and the 88-year-old husband of the first woman who died.
