Official spokesperson for Covid-19 updates in Maldives Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez says 7 more individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 today in the Maldives.

Speaking to the media, Mabrouk said these 7 individuals include 3 Maldivians and 4 foreigners. He did not give the details of these cases.

Health Protection Agency HPA had earlier confirmed 8 new cases of Covid-19 in Maldives.

It said 6 Maldivians and 2 Bangladeshis have tested for the global pandemic. HPA had said these individuals were being transported to isolation facilities.

The total number of positive cases now stand at 67 with 15 individuals tested positive for the virus today so far.

HPA officials have warned that if the spread of the virus continued in the current trajectory, the spread will hit its peak in 14 days.
