President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the aspiration of making the Maldives a developed nation by 2040 can only be realised through the collective effort of all Maldivians, working together with a unified vision.
He made the remarks while addressing residents of N. Holhudhoo during his ongoing tour of South Miladhunmadulu Atoll.
Underscoring the importance of national stability, the President noted that the spirit of political vengeance has been eliminated from the country today. He emphasised that over the past year and a half, not a single action has been taken against any individual on political grounds.
The President reiterated that his administration upholds the dignity and worth of every citizen, irrespective of political affiliation. He stressed that every Maldivian, their voice, their views, and their actions, hold significance.
The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing the people’s needs while navigating the nation out of its inherited economic challenges without increasing public debt or resorting to inflationary financing. He emphasised that this policy preserves national pride, independence, and sovereignty, and promotes both individual and collective development through self-reliance.
The President also highlighted the importance given to the development of mindsets, behaviors, and relationships, in addition to infrastructural development.
Concluding his remarks, the President expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the public and reaffirmed that the positive outcomes of the Government’s efforts would become evident in the near future.
