Health Protection Agency HPA has placed 22 residences in Male’ area under monitoring as the list of contacts of positive cases in Male’ City continues to grow longer.
HPA said 207 individuals have been identified as contacts of the mother (case 21) and toddler (case 22) who tested positive for Covid-19 in Male’.
Authorities have identified high risk and medium contacts from the list and placed them under isolation. Officials have also placed those categorized as low risk contacts at home isolation and have been monitoring these residences.

Earlier, HPA confirmed that 75 individuals who came in contact with positive Case 21 and 22 were at high risk. 43 out of the 207 contacts were at medium risk and 89 were at low risk.
HPA had said 7 contacts of case 23 were classified as high risk contacts while 28 were identified as medium risk contacts.
All three tested positive for Covid-19 in Male’ are being treated in Farukolhufushi Isolation facility. Officials have confirmed that all three belonged to the same family.
Greater Male’ Area is currently under lockdown after the confirmation of the community spread of the highly contagious Covid-19 virus.
