Health Protection Agency HPA says 9 individuals were released home from various quarantine facilities today after they completed 14-days of mandatory isolation as per measures undertaken to combat against Covid-19.

Briefing the press on the latest development on crisis, official spokesperson for Covid-19 Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez said a total of 853 individuals have now been released home from various quarantine facilities in the country.

Eleven individuals remained in isolation facilities while 962 individuals are currently under quarantine. Additionally, five Maldivians who came back from India earlier today are being quarantined at Indhiraa Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

A total of 2899 samples have been taken for Covid-19 testing with 2696 samples testing negative. 183 samples are still pending in the laboratory.

Twenty people have tested positive for Covid-19 here in the Maldives, including five Maldivians. Sixteen patients have since recovered from the highly contagious illness.
