Authorities have confirmed on Tuesday that two Maldivians initially found positive for COVID-19 virus have recovered from the disease.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) on 14 April 2020, Tuesday, confirmed two locals who were placed in Velidhoo Isolation facility after testing positive for the virus have recovered.

According to the health inspection and protection authority, two distinct samples from each of the initially affected had tested negative for the disease in recent testings.

Maldives reported a total of 5 locals contracting the viral disease, out of which three locals had recovered earlier.

The locals who contracted the disease include four flying in from United Kingdom and one from the Philippines.

At the time the viral pandemic does not have an official cure, however the symptoms for the disease can be cured through consistent treatment.

The island nation reported a total of 20 positive cases out of which 14 had recovered and four remained in treatment until Tuesday's development.
