The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a wave of coordinated attacks across several districts in Balochistan, targeting Pakistani security forces. The group described the operations as retaliation against the continued military presence and intelligence activities in the region.
According to a statement released by the BLA, four separate attacks were carried out in the areas of Dasht, Naseerabad, Turbat, and Noshki. These incidents reportedly resulted in casualties and disrupted security operations.
The first attack occurred in the Darchako area of Dasht, within Kech district, where an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a Pakistani Army bomb disposal unit. The BLA claims one soldier was killed on the spot and two others were injured during the operation.
Later in the day, BLA members reportedly set up a temporary checkpoint along the main highway in the Notaal area of Naseerabad. The group said their fighters conducted vehicle checks for approximately two hours. When local police attempted to intervene, they were allegedly met with armed resistance and forced to retreat.
In another incident near the Star Plus Market in Turbat, BLA operatives launched a hand grenade attack on a military checkpoint. The number of casualties from this attack has not been independently verified.
The most targeted attack, according to the BLA, occurred in Noshki’s Qadirabad area, where the group claimed responsibility for the killing of Naqeebullah, son of Meera Jaan Mengal. While no longer an active soldier, the BLA alleges he was operating as an undercover agent for Military Intelligence (MI). The group accused him of supporting the Pakistani military by recruiting locals, gathering intelligence, and facilitating enforced disappearances. They stated that he had been on their radar for some time due to his alleged collaboration.
The BLA warned that individuals who aid Pakistani forces—either directly or indirectly—remain under surveillance by the group’s intelligence unit, ZIRAB, and may face similar actions.
These attacks highlight the ongoing unrest in Balochistan, where separatist groups have long accused the Pakistani state of marginalizing the local population and exploiting the province’s natural resources. (Reported by: ANI)
