An amendment has been proposed to make the details of the points awarded public when the list of flat recipients is made public in housing schemes run by the government.
MP for Galolhu North Constituency, Mohamed Ibrahim, proposed the amendment.
The amendment moved by Mohammed Ibrahim, addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, seeks to add a clause after Article 51 of the Housing Bill or the article on publication of list of applicants for social housing programme.
In addition to what the government has already included in the Housing Bill in Parliament, it then proposes that the Ministry of Housing be required to publish a list containing the information of all applicants for a social housing program, as required by law.
The list should include the person's name, eligibility or not, and if not, the reason and details of how the points were awarded.
The current housing schemes always publish the list of flat recipients with their names and permanent addresses but never the details of the points they received.
