The State Trading Organization STO has changed the Greater Male' area locations and timings for the distribution of the free tuna cases the government is giving each household for Ramadan this year.

STO had initially prepared to distribute the cases in coordination with the Male' City Council and the distribution was set to begin at 2:30 this afternoon at the Council's different locations.

But in a last-minute change, the Council has confirmed that STO has informed the Council that the Ministry of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works would be aiding the company in the distribution.

STO said that with this change the timings for distribution in the Greater Male' area along with the locations have also changed.

It said that the tuna cases would be distributed during the following times;

  • February 20th: 8:30 to 11:00 pm
  • February 21st: Public Holiday
  • February 22nd: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and 08:30 pm to 11:00 pm
  • From February 23rd to 27th: 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm and 08:30 to 11:00 pm

STO said that the Tuna cases would be distributed at two locations in Male' including the MIFCO Office compound and the MTCC Sawmill in Henveiru.

It further said that the cases would be distributed in Villimale at its WAMCO site. As for Hulhumale', the case would be distributed at two locations in Hulhumale' including the Umar Zahir building in Phase 1 and the Youth Center in Hiya Tower 10 in Hulhumale Phase 2.

Tuna case distribution is already underway in the islands.
