Police have released the identification details of four of the five suspects arrested for the abduction and torture of an individual in Addu earlier this week.
They were arrested after they tried to evade a police patrol near Hithadhoo Milo Stadium on the night of 11th February.
Police then discovered a man who had been tied to a joali (traditional chair) and that the man had been tortured with his head also shaved.
Police had arrested five suspects in the case. However, as one of the suspects was a minor aged 15, Police only released the identification information of the four adult suspects.
The suspects include 22-year-old Ashraf Mohamed from Hithadhoo Noothari, 20-year-old Samah Thaufeeq from Hithadhoo Wish Dream, 20-year-old Ali Mazin of Hithadhoo Mary Garden, and 19-year-old Mohamed Yaeesh Azaad from Hithadhoo Grass.
The Court had remanded both Samah and Ashraf for 15 days in police custody while Mohamed Yaeesh Aazad and Ali Mazin were remanded for 7 days.
The minor had been released to his family.
Police continue to investigate the case.
