Police say they are reviewing how a police officer subdued a minor who attacked him.
The incident happened in Raa Atoll Meedhoo last Thursday night.
Police said that an off-duty police officer had instructed a group of youngsters making a ruckus on the streets to stop. Police said that the youngsters had refused and in turn confronted the officer and also refused to share their personal information.
Police recounted that the officer ordered the minors to come to the police station and that one of the minors had attacked him. They said they were investigating how the incident unfolded.
Police also said that the family of the minor had said that the officer had used undue force against the minor and hurt him in the process.
They said that they were reviewing the officer's actions as well and that the Police Professional Standard would be reviewing the incident.
