Police Spokesperson ACP Ahmed Shifan says Police are investigating the allegations made against Superintendent of Police Rajni Shuaib.
Allegations have surfaced online about Officer Rajni and how he had acquired a unit from the Vinares flats. Officer Rajni heads the Police Economic Crime Unit.
It has been alleged on social media that the Officer acquired his flat using illegal means. A list is being circulated on social media which notes the names of the individuals who had used forged documents to get the units from the Vinares flats.
Officer Rajni was one of the officers who gave information at a Press Conference held about the recently uncovered Binveriya Scheme forgery and subsequent corruption at the Housing Development Corporation HDC.
HDC was largely responsible for the sale of the housing units at Vinares flats.
