The ruling People's National Congress PNC has held its internal elections across the country today.
The Party said that voting began at 10:00 in the morning and continued till 2:00 in the afternoon.
PNC dubbed its internal election as the biggest held by a political party in the country. The Party detailed that 143 ballot boxes were placed across the country and that 53 boxes were placed in Male'.
It also stated that voting was held on 90 islands including Male'. PNC noted that 34,904 voters are eligible for the party's internal elections.
It added that 667 candidates are vying for 59 party posts in the election.
