Police have confirmed that 4 individuals were injured in an accident that happened in Phase 1 of Hulhumale' earlier this morning.

They said that the accident happened because two motorcycles collided and that the four victims injured in the collision were riding the two motorcycles.

They also said that a child was injured in the accident.

Police did not divulge information about the extend of their injuries or whether or not they had received treatment for their wounds.

Police added that they were further investigating the incident.

There has been a recent spike in road accidents in the Greater Male' Area including Male' and Hulhumale'. This prompted Police to set up Vehicle Check Points in the area.

Police said vehicle checkpoints will be set up in various parts of Male' and Hulhumale' to inspect driving licenses and other documents.

They said officers will also advise and raise awareness to help drivers pay attention to road safety.

Police have also advised the public to ensure that all safety measures are taken before using the vehicle.
