The Criminal Court has remanded the local man arrested for stealing from a Bangladeshi national for 10 days in custody.

The suspect stole from the foreigner by posing as an immigration officer on a raid.

Police said that a case was reported to them in which three individuals posing as Immigration Officials entered an apartment where migrants lived and stole a mobile phone and MVR 9,000 in cash on the 16th of this month.

Police further said they arrested 44-year-old Mohamed Naveen from Galolhu Beruge for allegedly stealing from the migrants.

They noted the suspect was arrested under a court order.

Today, the Police said that the Criminal Court had decided to remand the suspect in custody for 10 more days.

Although Police had said that three people were involved in the incident, Police did not confirm the arrest of the two other suspects involved in the impersonation and theft.
