Maldives National Defence Force MNDF has taken over the security of Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan.
The Ministry had confirmed to the Press that MNDF had taken over the Minister's security assignments.
It said that MNDF took over his security because the threat level had reached high for the Minister. However, the Ministry did not give any more details about this statement.
Minister Ihusan is a key Minister in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's cabinet and has been in the public limelight for several reasons over the last few months.
This includes the special operation undertaken by Immigrations against illegal and undocumented migrant workers and authorities have been relentless in implementing the laws in recent months.
Authorities have been deporting illegal immigrants while Police have also launched a special operation to promote road safety and prevent accidents in the Greater Male' Area.
Under the Minister's tutelage Police have also started publishing the personal information of suspects arrested for different crimes.
