Several people have been injured while trying to unload glass sheets from a boat to the harbor in the Southern City of Fuvahmulah.
Police said the incident happened around 09:32 in the morning and that a total of 4 people were injured in the mishap. Police said that they include 2 locals and 2 foreigners.
They added that all four were being treated at the hospital.
Police said they were investigating the incident.
A video clip of the incident is being circulated on social media and it shows one person's leg stuck under a sheet of glass.
Similar incidents have occurred in the past in the Maldives. Last year, such an incident in Noonu Maakurendhoo claimed the life of a foreigner who was helping glass sheets from a supply boat.
Such a mishap reported from Phase 2 of Hulhumale' also claimed the life of another foreigner.
