The Deputy Parliamentary Group Leader of PNC MP for Mahibadhoo Constituency Ahmed Thariq has resigned.
MP Thoaiq resigned as the Deputy PG leader of PNC today. The MP said in a post on X that he resigned from the post because could not give time to fulfill that responsibility due to his current personal affairs.
PNC is yet to comment on his resignation.
MP Thoriq was appointed as one of the three Deputy PG leaders in May by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
This MP Thoriq's 3rd term as a parliamentarian as he is one of the longest-serving MPs currently holding a seat in the Parliament.
He is also among the five members who preside over the parliament.
