Police say they have established a separate policing command for Hulhumale' to further strengthen the policing in Hulhumale' as the force announced changes to its administrative structure.
Police said today that the administrative structure was restructured to accommodate all requirements for achieving the goals set out in the Police Strategic Plan for the next four years.
They said that the changes would go into effect starting tomorrow.
Police outlined that The changes in the administrative management structure of the police have shaped the entire structure into 17 divisions at the command/directory level including local policing regions.
A gang crime enforcement, digital task force, and technology department has been established at the command level and a digital command has been established to build a data-driven and modern institution.
Police further said that they would form a new policing command dedicated specially to Hulhumale, to further strengthen policing Hulhumale', the most densely populated part in the greater Male' Area.
They also said that an anti-scam center has been set up to deal with scam cases and traffic police established for Male' and Hulhumale'.
