Police have launched an investigation after a video emerged on social media which showed a minor being beaten up inside the corridor of one of the Hiya Flat towers in Hulhumale' Phase II.
The video being circulated on social media showed that a group of 4 assailants crowded around the victim. Still, only one individual is assaulting what appears to be a boy in his late teens.
The video shows the assailant hitting the boy several times before pushing him to the ground and kicking his neck while he was down. The assailant is heard saying that the victim would get only 15 minutes to get out but it was not clear where the boy was meant to get out from.
The rest of the individuals, including the one videoing the incident, did nothing to stop the assailant.
When questioned about the video, Police said that the video was a few days old and that they received the video on the 19th of this month. Police
They also said that they have launched an investigation into the incident and that they have yet to identify the assailants in the video.
The Police did not give anymore information about the incident or the victim.
