President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has decided to implement a policy focused on cost reduction, revenue growth, and a medium-term revenue strategy, following recommendations from his Cabinet.
The decision was reached after thorough discussions on a paper presented by the Ministry of Finance during the latest Cabinet meeting.
In addition to this policy implementation, the President assigned a Cabinet sub-committee to oversee and facilitate efforts to diversify the Maldivian economy and explore avenues for revenue growth.
Meanwhile, the President also decided to implement the ”Malé Fahi Programme” in line with the recommendations of the Cabinet yesterday. This initiative aims to effectively address the congestion caused in the greater Malé region due to the increase in the number of land vehicles occupying the streets.
The decision was made following discussions on a paper submitted by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation during yesterday’s Cabinet meeting.
The President additionally decided to adopt an action plan comprising shared timelines amongst responsible institutions implementing the ”Malé Fahi Programme”.
