Maldives Police Services has launched its Strategic Plan for the next 5 years.
The plan was launched at a ceremony held today by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan.
Police said that the plan highlighted 5 key points that they would focus on in the next five years. They include;
- Combating Criminal Threats
- Prioritizing community engagement and Policing
- Modernizing and upgrading police infrastructure and practice
- Fostering effective governance and leadership development
- Ensuring accountability and ethical conduct
They also said that with this Plan for the next five years, many efforts will be made to further improve the quality of police services within the next five years.
Police said that this includes creating a special department to combat drugs and violent crime with a national strategy to combat drugs and gang violence as well as an anti-scam center to prevent scamming and fraud.
