Maldives Meteorology Services Met Office says bad weather is expected across the country in the next 3 days with squally showers, strong winds, and very rough seas expected.

In its forecast, the Met Office said under the influence of the active southwest monsoon condition, squally showers with strong winds and very rough seas are expected across the country for the next 3 days.

It said that surface winds will be southwest/westerly at 15-25 miles per hour and wind speed may increase up to 45-55 miles per hour during showers.

The Met Office predicted seas will be rough becoming very rough during squalls with the possibility of swell waves during high tides.

It urged caution for all and said that particularly seafarers are advised to exercise caution during this period. The Met Office also advised the public to take the necessary measures to minimize the impact and damage due to strong winds and possible heavy rains.

The country has been experiencing bouts of bad weather across all the regions in the last few days.
