Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal says this administration is working to create the resources needed to transform Laamu Atoll Gan-Fonadhoo into a city.

He said this in his remarks at the rally to celebrate the Minister's father and the Special Advisor to the President Abdul Raheem Abdullah winning the parliament seat for Fonadhoo Constituency.

The Minister said during the reign of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Gan-Fonadhoo would be the most thriving 'City'. The Minister noted that he wants to see this dream become a reality before the next Council Election.

He said Gan-Fonadhoo would be elected a mayor and city council members in the next election.

Minister Faisal also said this administration has special plans for Laamu Atoll and has decided to develop four resorts in the Atoll under the 'one island' concept.

He added the administration would be signing a lease agreement with a Dubai company this week.

The Minister further said the government will provide hospitals, housing projects, and special facilities for sports in the Atoll. Faisal further said that the government will provide the necessary resources to strengthen the economy of the Atoll.
