Police have launched an investigation after a fire engulfed the campaign office of the PNC Candidate for the Kulhudhufushi North Constituency Mohamed Dawood.
Speaking to the Press, Police said that the report of a fire at the office came around midnight last night.
Police said that no one was injured in the fire but several items inside the office were damaged in the blaze.
However, the Police did not clarify the reason for the fire and also did not specify whether the fire was caused by an arson attack.
With the parliamentary elections mere days away, campaigns are in a frenzy with several allegations of bribery and anti-campaigning from different sides competing in the incident.
The Parliamentary election is set to be held on the 21st of this month.
