President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says political party membership is not important to him and that all citizens are equal in his eyes.
He commented during his trip to Laamu Atoll Maavah during his tour of the southern islands and Addu City.
The President said that he aims to bring developmental changes as quickly as possible and that anyone from any party can enjoy the benefits from such infrastructural development. President Muizzu said he does not intend to differentiate between citizens because of the party they belong to.
President Muizzu outlined that his government has budgeted several developmental projects in Maavashu and that these include developing the football field and upgrading the health center on the island.
He further said that he would need support from the parliament to hasten the projects. The President said if the Parliament does not approve the budget allocated for the projects, the government would not be able to carry them out.
He added many projects have been stalled in the last four months for the same reason.
