Today is the hottest day ever recorded in the capital of Male'.

Maldives Meteorological Services Met said that the feels-like temperature in the capital city today reached 46.3 degrees Celsius while the air temperature remained at 33.3 degrees Celsius.

Last week the feels-like temperature in Male' City was on average between 44-45 degrees Celsius.

The “Feels Like” temperature relies on environmental data including the ambient air temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed to determine how weather conditions feel to bare skin.

It is a hot day across the country with high feel-like temperatures reported elsewhere in the country. Met Office reported that around 11:00 a.m. Laamu Kaddu recorded a feels-like temperature of 41.9 degrees Celsius while further South in Gaafu Dhaalu Kaadehdhoo feels-like temperature reached 43.6 degrees Celsius.

The Southernmost Seenu Gan recorded a feels-like temperate of 40.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the Met Office, March and April are the hottest months of the year. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 2 pm.
