Authorities in the Southern City of Fuvamulah have reported another accident in the city in as many nights.
Police said they received reports of an accident around 11:45 p.m. last night and that a speeding motorcycle traveling on Dhiguvaadu Naibuthuthu road had veered out of control.
Police said that the cycle had then crashed into an excavator parked on the side of the road.
A 27-year-old local man was injured in the crash. Police confirmed that the victim had initially undergone treatment at the Fuvahmulah Hospital before being transferred to Male' for further treatment.
This is the second accident reported in the Southern City in as many nights.
On Monday night an out-of-control motorcycle crashed into a street pole and seriously injured a 32-year-old man.
The Press has come to know that this victim too has been transferred to Male' with serious injuries to the left side of his body and his head.
