Police say a man found collapsed on a street in the capital Male' has been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police said that the man was found collapsed on Neelofaru Magu and that they received the report of the incident around 05: 27 a.m. today. Police identified the man as a 32-year-old local man and that the man is now being treated at the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

They added that they were further investigating the matter.

Local media have reported that the individual fell from a building nearby while fleeing after robbing the place. The man had reportedly fallen from the 5th story of the building. But the Police have yet to confirm these reports.

Building falls have grown common in the Maldives. Earlier this month, a foreigner working on a lift installation fell to his death from the 13th floor of a building in Male'.

The individual fell into the stairwell of the building and later succumbed to his injuries while under treatment at the hospital.
