Police say a person who fell off a house in Male' has been rushed to the hospital and is receiving treatment.
They said that they received the report of the incident around 10:30 a.m. today and that the person fell off a building on Chandhanee Magu of Male'.
Police did not divulge the extent of the person's injuries but said that the individual was receiving treatment at state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
They did not share whether the person was a man or woman nor if the victim was a local or a foreigner but said that Police were still active at the scene.
Unverified reports state the individual had fallen from the 9th story of a building that houses the 'Big Man' restaurant in Chandhanee Magu.
Such incidents are not uncommon in the Maldives. Last year, a 4-year-old child died after falling from a building on Hulhumale while a-15-year-old died after falling from the 15th floor of Hiya Tower 12 in Hulhumale' Phase II.
