MPs from the ruling PNC have disrupted the parliament session as both Democrats and MDP indicated today that they won't back some of the cabinet Ministers appointed by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

The Parliament is having an extraordinary session today with Cabinet Ministers approval high on its agenda.

But before the session, Democrats issued a three-line whip saying that it would not approve some of the Ministers and MDP also issued their three-line whip.

News trickled down, that both Parties won't approve key ministers including Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidar, and Attorney General Ahmed Usham.

This made PNC MP disrupt the cabinet approval voting by locking the doors to the Parliament chambers and locking out MPs from MDP and Democrats.

Some MPs stuck outside say that PNC MPs have taken horns into the chamber and are using them right now.

While some video footage and photos are circulating on social media, one such image shows the MP for Kanditheem Constituency Abdullah Shameem Abdul Hakeem sitting on the seat designated for the Speaker of the Parliament.
