Police say they have arrested a local man for making a bomb threat at Hanimaadhoo International Airport.
They said that the man was a passenger departing from the airport and that he made threats saying that he had a bomb with him. Police said that they arrested the local man today.
However, the Police did not give any more information about the case and only said that they were further investigating the matter.
Several words cannot be said in an airport and an airplane and those include 'gun', 'pistol' as well as 'bomb', and 'explosives'.
Last year, Police arrested an employee from Hanimaadhoo International Airport for commenting on possessing a pistol during a routine personnel check.
Also last year, a local couple was arrested at Gan International Airport after a man had said that he had a bomb in his bag. The 61-year-old man was taken into custody along with his 58-year-old wife but both were released a day later.
