11 vape cartridges containing suspected drugs have been found and two individuals were arrested with drugs in a joint operation conducted by Drug Enforcement and Police Intelligence.
A 25-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested following a tip-off that police were dealing drugs in the city on Tuesday night.
Police said 11 vape cartridges containing suspected drugs and a large amount of Maldivian currency were recovered from a house in the city. The suspect's motorcycle was searched and 17 vape cartridges containing suspected drugs were recovered from him.
The 25-year-old man was remanded in custody for 15 days while the 32-year-old woman was released on conditions.
Police said the case is being investigated by the drug enforcement department.
Drug Enforcement and Police Intelligence conducted a drug operation in Villimale that night and arrested two persons with drugs. One of them was released on conditions. The second man was remanded in custody for 15 days.
