Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan says the joint task force of law enforcement agencies has seized drugs and alcohol worth more than MVR 5 million.
In a post on 'X', Minister Ihusan detailed that the task force contained Police, Maldives Customs Services, Maldives Immigration as well as Maldives Correctional Services.
He said that the task force has been established under the specific guidance of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Minister Ihusan said that in the last 2 weeks, the task force has seized drugs and alcohol worth MVR 5.5 million.
He also revealed that the agencies have detailed 53 expatriates living in the country in violation of the law.
