MP for Fonadhoo Constituency Moosa Siraj has been appointed as the Parliamentary Group Leader of PNC which represents the government in the Parliament.
The Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Aslam announced at the beginning of today's session that PNC had informed the Parliament that it had appointed MP Siraj as its PG leader last Wednesday.
His appointment came as the post became vacant after the former PNC PG Leader MP for Felidhoo Constituency Fazul Rasheed resigned from his seat after being appointed as the Managing Director of Urbanco.
The MP for Fonadhoo Constituency Siraj was elected to his seat via an MDP ticket. But he resigned from the party on the 21st of August this year. He was seen leading the Presidential campaign of the current President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
PNC has only two MPs in the parliament and in addition to MP Siraj, the MP for Thulusdhoo Constituency Ibrahim Naseem is also representing PNC.
