Hulhumale' Councillor of the Male' City Council Ibrahim Shujau has decided to compete for the Parliament seat of the Baarashu Constituency.
Shujau is from Baarah.
He announced this via a post on 'X' and Shuaju, who is one of the Vice Presidents of the PPM/PNC Coalition, requested the people of the constituency to support him in this bid.
Shujau had competed for the same seat in the last parliamentary seat but lost out to the MDP Candidate and current MP for Baarashu Constituency Ahmed Abdullah.
While Councillor Shujau announced his intent to compete in the next Parliamentary election, Deputy Mayor of Male' City Ahmed Nareesh recently decided against competing for Kulhudhufushi North Constituency Seat having announced his candidacy for the seat too.
Nareesh said that he decided against competing for the seat as he was not a native of Kulhudhufushi.
