Police say they have arrested 10 people in election-related offenses so far today.

They said that out of the 10 offenders, 7 have now been released. This means 3 remain under Police custody but Police did not give any details about the nature of their offenses.

Police assured amidst the ongoing nationwide voting, their officers remain vigilant and dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all.

Voting began around 08:00 a.m. across the country this morning and it would continue till 05:00 p.m. this evening. The Elections Commission has said that the voting queues would be closed by 05:00 a.m. and that no additional time would be allocated for voting.

A total of 282,804 voters are eligible to cast their votes in the election today.

This is 409 voters more than that was eligible in the first round of voting held earlier this month.
