PNC Presidential Candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says the Greater Male' Connectivity Project (most commonly known as Thila Male' Bridge Project) must continue as it is vital for the country's development.
In an exclusive interview with "The Press", Muizzu, who is also the Mayor of Male' City, said that the mega project is a vital project for the development of the Greater Male' Region as well as for the whole country.
Muizzu said that connecting Male' to Thilafushi and Giraavaru falhu is important for the country's development and that the project must continue.
He indicated that his administration would continue the project at a fast pace.
Muizzu said that the current pace of the project indicated that there were some issues in the project and that his administration would go through the project agreement to determine these issues as it is a mega project valued at a whopping USD 700 million.
The PNC Candidate said that the project pace was currently very slow and that the agreement for the project must have solutions to fasten the pace of the project touted as the biggest infrastructure development project carried out in the country.
He added that he intends to rectify the issues within the project and continue it as it would be very beneficial to the people.
This comes amid talk from within the ranks of the ruling MDP Coalition government that Muizzu would halt the Thila Male' Bridge Project if he came into power.
