PNC Presidential Candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu promises to give a monthly allowance to individuals with Thalassemia, an inherited blood disorder that most of the time requires the patient to get monthly blood transfusions.

He made the pledge while speaking at a campaign rally on Raa Atoll Dhuvaafaru.

Muizzu, who is also the Mayor of Male' city, repeated the promise to financially assist individuals with the blood disorder to get bone marrow transplant surgeries and then pledged to issue a monthly allowance for those struggling with Thalassemia.

Muizzu said that each month these patients who require monthly blood transfusions bear a painful and heavy burden and that he would introduce an allowance to such individuals via the government system.

He said that this would ease the burdens on the individuals and their families.

The PNC Candidate said that he has come prepared to strive to ease the worries of the people and that he wants to make the hopes of the people a reality.

Muizzu said that he has plans to further strengthen the country's economy and that the country needs to find ways to bring in more revenues.

Noting that the country's debt has passed the MVR 100 billion mark, Muizzu said that work must begin to help the country climb out of this debt trap and that he was making pledges keeping this in mind.

He said that he had a plan to achieve this and that he knows how to rebuild the economy.
